I Was Frustrated With The Guitar Lessons I Was Getting

Friday, October 9th, 2009

There are a lot of people that teach guitar in our town.  Unfortunately most of them are barely above the beginning level and while they can play fairly well they do not have a good grasp of what it takes to get across what they know.  After going through several of these teachers I started to get frustrated with listening to them play while they could not answer my questions.  Then I heard about learning blues guitar lessons from an online source.  The lessons came via downloads and were clear enough that even I could figure out what needed to be done to master the guitar.

The candles that Angela is making

Friday, October 9th, 2009

Every now and then I go on Facebook and try to reconnect with some of the people from my past. Last Tuesday night I reconnected with an old girlfriend named Angela. Angela and I dated while going to coastline community college 10 years ago. After exchanging a couple of e-mails I gave her my phone number so she could call me. Angela told me that she got divorced last year and has recently been taking up some art classes. Right now we she is into ceramics and making gel candles. This seemed pretty apropos because when we were dating she was very much in the arts

My Cousin Got Married

Thursday, August 27th, 2009

My cousin got married last weekend.  She and her husband had been together 6 years before they decided to tie the knot.  Growing up in the 60′s, they were both a big fan of the beatles music and they had one of their songs as their wedding song.  It was a beautiful ceremony held outside in the extreme heat. Some people dressed for the heat, while others wore fancy clothes, like you would at a regular wedding.  After the couple was married they went and changed their clothes and dressed in bathing suits, even though there wasn’t a pool around.  None the less, we all had fun.

Knowing A Thing Or Two About Worship Guitar Lessons

Thursday, August 20th, 2009

I have been having a lot of kids come up to me after church asking about worship guitar lessons.  I have told them before that I am not the best guitar player, but I think that I could help them out.  I found this website that had some great tips for those who want to learn how to play guitar while leading worship.  The great thing about so many worship songs is how easy they are.  For the most part you can play a lot of songs with just 4 simple chords.  That is not exaggerating either.  I am very excited about their potential.

Dream About A Music Video

Sunday, August 9th, 2009

I had this really bizarre dream last night that we were making a music video in the back yard. Everyone was dressed up like mimes, except they were all talking and partying and being rowdy. What do you think that means?

I’ve never understood all that dream interpretation stuff. Like when the roof of your house falls in and it really means that you have high cholesterol or whatever. I mean, not literally, but you know the sort of thing I’m talking about, right?

Kaitlin used to always tell me what my dreams meant and it would crack me up.

Discovering Tatttoo Ideas

Tuesday, August 4th, 2009

One of the best ways to think about what you might want to use on your body is to look around at nature.  What kinds of things do you enjoy?  What beauty do you see in nature.  Finding tattoo ideas is not difficult if you just open your eyes.  Some people like to have flowers, or animals used as tattoos.  That is a popular and beautiful choice that can be used in many different ways.  The colors are your choice and can be varied in many ways that can make the tattoo more available and beautiful than you thought was possible before.

Laughter Cheers All

Saturday, August 1st, 2009

Whenever I need a good laugh, I just read some funny poems.  They always put a smile on my face when I am feeling down.  I do not know how anyone can stay sad after reading some poems like that.  I like them so much, I read them to my kids before they go to bed.  They always have good dreams, and they always wake up happy and chipper.  Laughter is the best medicine when my children are feeling sick, or sad.  Sometimes I will make up some poems just to cheer up my children if a friend was mean to them or if they had a bad day at school.

Planning your wedding ceremony 2

Tuesday, July 28th, 2009

If you are going to have a Catholic ceremony, you have basically two choices: a ceremony contained within a mass, or a service held without a mass. Practicing Catholics tend to prefer the former. Once that decision is made, the parameters are fairly well laid out by tradition. Changes and additions may be made, but the priest is the final arbiter of what is and is not appropriate. This varies greatly from a Quaker or Friends ceremony in which anyone in the congregation may speak, at any length, on virtually any subject (preferably one that is spiritual rather than mundane). Jewish wedding ceremonies traditionally end with a “bang,” the shattering of a glass underfoot. There are a variety of interpretations for this tradition, just one of which is the addition to every happy event, a bit of sadness that recalls the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem. Religious ceremonies each have their own particular guidelines, too numerous to mention here. So, If you wish to have a religious ceremony, your best resource for information is your clergy person. Interfaith, intercultural ceremonies, or same-sex commitment ceremonies all come with their own particular details and specifics. It is best for you to consult with your officiator or another expert to give you the guidelines and make suggestions for the preparation of a tasteful, moving ceremony. Your clergy person may also have special requirements for the bride and groom, such as premarital counseling for discussion of critical issues in your upcoming marriage.

Tattoo Me Now – the original tattoo site

Monday, July 20th, 2009

Surfing through the net looking for tattoo designs can be fun but it can also be frustrating. There are too many sites out there looking to rip you off with unoriginal, copied designs that you can even see properly. Tattoo Me Now is very different for all of those. It has a gallery of over 3,000 original designs but unlike most other sites it has a discussion forum for you to get tips, exchange ideas and meet new friends. There is also a great resource library with tattoo ebooks and a video vault full of videos on tattoos and tattooing.
