An Opinion On “David Feith: The Radical School Reform Law You’ve Never Heard Of”
Monday, April 2nd, 2012absolutely correct. what we used to call vocational education was much more useful teaching and education kept more kids in school than any other public educational program ever. Way too many kids are going to college, taking college preparation courses and college credit courses in high school. Most of us don’t need a degree for what we do.
BTW, that includes myself. I’ve been a non-degreed software engineer for 20 years. I’m working on a degree now because I have the time and money and I realize how little of it would have EVER been useful in my long career. The wrong people are in charge of education.
Kill the Dept of Education, get the feds out of that business, let the states and cities decide what an education should consist of.
