Health Benefits Of Vitamin C Mega Dosing

Taking larger doses of vitamin C, around 1000mg or more per day, can have some great health benefits. Vitamin C is an antioxidant vitamin, and larger doses can increase the effectiveness of another antioxidant, vitamin E.

Possibly due to its’ antioxidant effect, large doses of vitamin C can reduce the risk of heart disease, some cancers (such as stomach cancer, and cancers of the esophagus, mouth, larynx, and pancreas). It can also reduce the risk of cataracts, increase our immunity to infectious agents, lower high blood pressure, increase the speed of wound healing, and reduce the loss of cartilage and the progression of osteoarthritis.
