The invisible table
I used to have a friend who had one of those noguchi table pieces in his living room. It was ironically the talk of the living room set and simultaneously it blended in if you weren’t looking directly at it. The colors used in the base sections were pretty close to the furniture color with a slight contrast and the table seemed to become invisible to the eyes when you walked into the room wearing sunglasses.
Many people knocked into this expensive piece of furniture (over 650.00) but it was pretty sturdy none the less. You could say that it did it’s job and blended into the room invisibly like the artist mentions in his memoirs.
