The Role of American Red Cross
The American Red Cross is the United States’ reliable emergency response association. It was established in 1881 by visionary leader Clara Barton to provide charitable care to the casualties of war and helping victims of devastating disasters by nature.
As time goes by, the American Red Cross’ service expanded by including compassionate services in five more branches such as the following: “(1) community services that aid those who are in need (2) support and comfort for military members and their families (3) the compilation, processing and allocation of lifesaving blood and blood products (4) educational programs that promote health and security (5) and global relief and development programs.”
