Working with Kittens and Children
When a child wants a new kitten and you’ve deemed it all right, there are some factors to think about. As soon as you introduce the pet to your child, you must immediately begin teaching him or her about proper kitten care. This includes the correct way to hold the animal, the proper way to pet the kitten, and how to carefully play with it. Depending on the age of the child, you must be willing to take charge and be the primary caregiver of the pet for an extended period of time. Although it will be nice to have a new family member, everyone must understand it is a group effort.
