Being a Victim of Identity Theft Ain’t Much Fun
I really feel sorry for people who have their identity stolen. These people might have a stellar credit record, fine work history, etc., and then some scumbag ruins their life just to make a few thousand dollars. I guess these victims of identity theft have it a little easier these days than they did a few years ago, due to the prevalence of the crime, but it’s still gotta be a major hassle. Back when identity theft first came into the public consciousness, it seemed that it was usually due to some carelessness on the part of the victim (not that they could be blamed, because who knew anything about this problem then). Now that people are a little more vigilant, it seems the bad guys just steal a laptop, or hack a supposedly secure computer system. Identity theft sucks big time!
