The Damage is Irreversible – One of the most traumatizing part in a child’s life is when their parents get divorced. This is like torning them in half. You are lucky if the damage seems mild, but for those who are deeply attached to both parents, the damage on the child can be severe. It can be as extreme that can manifest both inward and outward. Your child can hate you or your partner, all of their life, or not talk to you for weeks or even years, or worst case scenario – self destruct. Most of the people in my network who has close family ties that failed killed themselves. Its a very sad truth! But its how they cope up with the trauma.  Important thing to remember here is to explain constructively to your kid/s how you must work together to cope up. This can take a lot of time. However, if you manage to do this in a creative, healthy, comforting, and a mentally safe way, you sure are going to get over it.
