Training for Speed is One Aspect of Sports Training

Whether a distance runner, sprinter or even a speed skater, learning the proper techniques for the sport is one aspect of the sports training involved.  However, another aspect of this type of training is training for speed.  The right technique gets you half of an athlete.  For the other half, you have to spend time training an athlete on how to develop their technique and work with it toward being as fast as they can be.  This is speed training and is very important when you are training someone in track and field or speed skating.  Let’s face it, without the proper speed, you cannot compete.
